Sundowns linked with APR FC striker Djibril Ouattara
Burkina Faso centre-forward Djibril Ouattara, currently with Rwanda’s APR FC, has been linked with a move to South African club Sundowns.
Ouattara, 27, has made a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign, scoring four goals in three appearances across the Rwanda BK Pro League and the CAF Champions League. He has scored twice in each competition, including two goals in two continental appearances.
The forward joined APR FC from Algerian side JS Kabylie on 23 January 2025 in a free transfer. His move to Rwanda followed a spell with Moroccan club Renaissance de Berkane, where he won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019-20 and the CAF Super Cup and Moroccan Cup in 2022-23.
Ouattara has also been recognised as a top goalscorer during his career, while his club honours include a total of four titles listed across continental and domestic competitions.
Sundowns compete in South Africa’s Betway Premiership, while APR FC play in Rwanda’s top flight. The reported interest comes with Ouattara currently producing at a rate of more than one goal per appearance in the opening stages of the season.
He remains an APR FC player, having joined the Rwandan club in January 2025.
