Djibril Ouattara: Kaizer Chiefs linked with APR FC striker
Burkina Faso forward Djibril Ouattara is being linked with a move from Rwanda’s APR FC to South African club Kaizer Chiefs.
The 27-year-old centre-forward has made a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign, scoring four goals in three appearances across the Rwanda BK Pro League and the CAF Champions League. Ouattara scored twice in his only league appearance and has also found the net twice in two Champions League matches.
Ouattara joined APR FC in January 2025 after leaving Algerian club JS Kabylie. He had moved to JS Kabylie from Moroccan side Renaissance de Berkane in August 2024, having previously spent time with Moroccan club OC Safi.
The striker won the CAF Super Cup and Moroccan Cup with Renaissance de Berkane during the 2022-23 season, and also helped the club win the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019-20.
A right-footed attacker born in Bobo-Dioulasso, Ouattara has been used as APR FC’s central forward and has started both of the club’s Champions League matches this season. His current form has coincided with reported interest from Kaizer Chiefs, who compete in South Africa’s Betway Premiership.
No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the potential move remains at the rumour stage. Ouattara is currently an APR FC player and has a contract with the Rwandan club that has not been publicly detailed.
