Beganovic confirms Golden Arrows talks as TS Galaxy return emerges

Adnan Beganovic has confirmed he held several meetings with Golden Arrows before the start of the season, with the former TS Galaxy coach now being considered for a possible return to the Rockets.

The 43-year-old was close to taking charge of Abafana Bes’thende, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement over the terms of his contract.

Beganovic, who previously coached TS Galaxy, has emerged as a potential option for the club as it considers its next move on the coaching front. However, he revealed that Golden Arrows had also been a serious possibility earlier this year.

“Yes, I had a couple of very good meetings with the president of Golden Arrows. We spoke about everything and spent several days negotiating. In the end, we could not find an agreement regarding the contract,” Beganovic told the Siya crew.

“I cannot speak about exactly why we could not agree, but I really wanted to go there at that time because I think it is a good project. I think we could have achieved a lot there and put the club in a better position.”

The discussions took place before Pitso Dladla was appointed Golden Arrows’ coach in June 2026, following the departure of Manqoba Mngqithi.

Beganovic said he believed the club had the resources and squad required to develop a strong team and compete for honours.

“They have top resources and good players. If you have the knowledge and experience, I think you can build something strong there and fight for something. I am always positive,” he said.

The Bosnian also explained that he had wanted to retain members of his coaching staff and find a role for his technical director. He suggested those requests may have played a part in the negotiations ending without an agreement.

“At that time, I also tried to keep my coaching staff with me and arrange a position for my technical director. Maybe that was too much for the club, and they decided to move forward. I appreciate that,” he said.

Richards Bay were another club to discuss a possible appointment with Beganovic during the recent FIFA international break, but that opportunity also failed to materialise.

He remains without a club while assessing his next move, with a return to TS Galaxy now a possibility. Beganovic previously worked at the club under chairman Tim Sukazi.

Despite missing out on the Golden Arrows job, Beganovic said he remained grateful for the discussions and spoke positively about the club’s leadership.

“Our last conversation was a very good one, and I wish Golden Arrows all the best. I can say only positive things about the club, the people there and especially President Mato (Madlala), and those she works with,” he said.
