Emmanuel Latte Lath injury worry for Union Berlin ahead of Elversberg clash

Union Berlin have been handed another fitness concern ahead of their Bundesliga meeting with SV Elversberg on Saturday, with Emmanuel Latte Lath unable to complete Tuesday’s training session.

The 27-year-old striker was forced to leave the session after around 30 minutes, according to Bild. Latte Lath reportedly walked off the pitch alongside physiotherapist Sven Kuhlbrodt, with initial indications pointing towards a possible muscular problem.

However, the club is yet to provide a precise diagnosis, leaving uncertainty over whether the forward will be fit enough to feature against Elversberg.

Any absence would be a major blow for Union Berlin, who are already dealing with limited options in attack. Andrej Ilić continues to train individually following his recent appendectomy and has yet to return to full team training.

Oliver Burke is also expected to miss Saturday’s fixture. According to the report, the match is likely to come too soon for the Scotland international as he continues his recovery from Achilles tendon problems.

Latte Lath’s condition will therefore be closely monitored in the coming days, with Union hoping the striker’s withdrawal proves to be only a precaution.
