Issa Doumbia’s performance for Italy against Turkey has reportedly caught the attention of both AS Roma and Juventus, with the two Serie A clubs monitoring the Sporting CP midfielder. The 22-year-old impressed scouts during the international fixture at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
Doumbia, an Italian midfielder of Ivorian origin, is under contract with Sporting CP until 30 June 2031. His current release clause is set at 80 million euros, reflecting the Portuguese club’s confidence in his ability and long-term potential.
Sporting CP are keen to retain the player and are not expected to make negotiations easy if either AS Roma or Juventus decide to make a formal approach. For now, both clubs are understood to be following his progress closely after being impressed by his display for Italy.
The midfielder’s contract and sizeable clause could prove a significant barrier to any move, particularly if his value continues to rise. Sporting CP appear determined to support his development in Lisbon rather than respond easily to interest from elsewhere.
Doumbia’s valuation on Transfermarkt currently stands at 20 million euros, considerably below the 80 million euros required to activate his release clause.
Sporting CP are next due to face Braga in the eighth round of the Portuguese league. The published betting odds list Braga at 3.45 to win, the draw at 3.30 and a Sporting CP victory at 1.87.
