MAS Fes have received a boost ahead of their third-round meeting with Raja Casablanca after Hamza Afdal returned to full team training following an injury.

Afdal took part normally in Tuesday’s training session as MAS Fes continued preparations for Thursday’s clash, which will be played at the Stadium of Honor in Meknes.

The player’s return gives coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem an additional option as Moghreb Fes look to maintain their perfect start to the Moroccan professional league season.

Afdal returns as injury list remains long

Afdal had missed a number of training sessions because of injury but has now recovered sufficiently to rejoin his team-mates.

His return comes at a useful time for Moghreb Fes, who are preparing to face one of the country’s leading clubs.

However, the club continue to have several players unavailable because of injuries.

Suleiman Alloush, Adel Al-Rahili, Mozambican Diogo Kalala and young Senegalese defender Samba Mbengue remain absent from training.

Their availability for the Raja match will depend on their respective recovery processes.

Raja visit moved to Meknes

Moghreb Fes will host Raja Casablanca in Meknes because their home stadium in Fez is set to undergo rehabilitation work.

The work is part of preparations linked to Morocco’s hosting of events surrounding the 2030 World Cup.

The third-round fixture is scheduled for Thursday at 20:00 local time at the Stadium of Honor in Meknes.

Moghreb Fes chasing another victory

Moghreb Fes enter the match with confidence after securing their second consecutive league victory.

They beat Hassania Agadir 2-1 in their previous outing at Al-Bashir Stadium in Mohammedia, building momentum at the start of the campaign.

The return of Afdal provides another positive development for the club as they prepare for the challenge of facing Raja, with both sides set to meet in what promises to be one of the notable fixtures of the third round.
