Morocco to face New Zealand, Germany and Argentina at U17 Women’s World Cup
Morocco will begin their U17 Women’s World Cup campaign against New Zealand on 17 October as the host nation prepares to play the opening match of the tournament on home soil.
The competition will start at the Rabat Sports Complex, with Morocco scheduled to face New Zealand at 18:00 GMT.
Playing in front of their home supporters, the U17 Lionesses will be looking to make a positive start to their campaign by securing victory in their first group match.
Morocco will then return to action three days later when they face Germany on 20 October.
Their final first-round fixture will come against Argentina on 23 October, giving Morocco three matches in the opening stage of the competition.
The schedule means the hosts will have a short turnaround between their first two matches, with the game against Germany following the New Zealand fixture on 17 October.
Morocco will then complete their first-round programme against Argentina.
The U17 Lionesses will be hoping to build on their previous appearance at the tournament. In 2025, Morocco reached the round of 16 after securing victory against Costa Rica in their final match of the first round.
Their route to the knockout stage came after a difficult start to the competition.
Morocco lost their opening two matches against Brazil and Italy, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Brazil before losing 3-1 to Italy.
They recovered in their final first-round match against Costa Rica, with the victory enough to send them through to the round of 16.
This time, Morocco will have the advantage of playing the tournament on home soil and will begin their campaign with the support of the home crowd in Rabat.
The opening match against New Zealand will be followed by the meeting with Germany before Argentina provide the final test of the first round.
Morocco’s three fixtures will all kick off at 18:00 GMT.
