Egypt Under-17 head coach Hussein Abdel Latif has announced a provisional 25-man squad for the training camp ahead of the Gulf U-17 Cup.
The camp is due to begin on Wednesday, with the final squad to be reduced to 23 players before the team travels to Qatar on 14 October.
Monza striker Amir Abu al-Ezz is included in the provisional selection.
The tournament is scheduled to begin in Qatar on 16 October. The competition will run from 17 October to 4 November 2026 and feature 10 national teams, the largest field in the tournament’s history.
Egypt will compete in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and Yemen after being drawn in the same section.
Group A consists of United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and China.
Egypt finished sixth in the International Friendship Tournament a few days before the squad announcement.
The local organising committee in Qatar will oversee the event and host its matches in coordination with the Gulf Football Federation. According to a statement from the federation, preparations are under way for the tournament’s start in October.
The competition will include the national teams of the Gulf Football Federation’s member associations: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen, alongside Egypt and China.
