Bafana Bafana edge Egypt as Puso Dithejane settles international friendly

South Africa secured a 1-0 victory over Egypt at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday evening, with Puso Dithejane scoring the only goal of the international friendly.

The result extended Pitso Mosimane’s unbeaten record against his Egyptian counterpart, Hossam Hassan. It was Mosimane’s third match in charge of Bafana Bafana since replacing Hugo Broos last month.

Mosimane made several changes to his starting XI after South Africa’s 5-0 win over Eritrea three days earlier. Sipho Chaine was among those given an opportunity to start and helped Bafana Bafana claim another victory.

Dithejane’s goal proved sufficient to earn South Africa maximum points in Cairo.
