Roberto Mancini has made several changes to the Italy team for their Nations League group-stage meeting with Turkey on matchday four.
The two sides meet at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna, with Antonio Vergara named in Italy’s starting XI for the first time. The Napoli player previously came on as a substitute in the Azzurri’s match against France a few days ago.
Italy have been forced into a number of alterations after several players withdrew from the squad through injury. Moise Kean, Samuele Ricci and Diego Coppola are among those unavailable.
Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Romano return to the midfield, where they will line up alongside Sporting CP player Issa Doumbia.
Italy’s starting XI is:
Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma
Defenders: Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Gianluca Mancini, Alessandro Bastoni, Matteo Ruggeri
Midfielders: Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Romano, Issa Doumbia
Forwards: Antonio Vergara, Gianluca Scamacca, Daniel Maldini
Italy go into the fixture third in the group with four points, two behind second-placed Belgium.
France lead the standings on seven points, while Turkey are bottom without a point.
