Kylian Mbappe set to rejoin Real Madrid squad at Valdebebas

Kylian Mbappe is expected to return to Real Madrid training later today as he continues his recovery from a minor knee injury, according to Diario AS.

The France forward is reportedly on course to regain full fitness in time for Saturday’s La Liga meeting with Villarreal at Valdebebas. Mbappe returned to Madrid on Monday after a short break approved by the club’s coaching staff, arriving at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport alongside his partner, actress Ester Exposito.

Mbappe picked up the injury during France’s 1-0 win over Turkey, suffering a hyperextension of the posterior capsule in his left knee. The problem forced him to withdraw from Zinedine Zidane’s squad for the remainder of the international window.

His recovery has attracted attention because of images showing him training away from Madrid during the break. Real Madrid, however, have clarified that the trip was part of his rehabilitation plan and was approved internally.

With the Villarreal fixture approaching, Jose Mourinho must now decide whether to start Mbappe immediately or ease him back into action from the bench. His availability would be a major boost for Madrid as they look to strengthen their position in La Liga.
