Jamal Malinzi, whose candidacy was initially rejected, has emerged as the winner and has been elected as the head of the Tanzania Football Federation. Despite facing rejection based on a lack of experience in managing TFF affairs, Malinzi secured 73 votes against 52 for his rival, Athumani Nyamlani, the outgoing vice-president. This victory comes after the general elections for TFF officials were initially scheduled for February but were postponed due to controversial rejections of certain candidacies, including Malinzi’s. His campaign focused on the development of young talents, transparent TFF management, and the promotion of women’s football.
