Ayoub Bouaddi said Morocco would have preferred to beat Mali after the two sides drew 1-1 in a friendly, but believes the match provided an important opportunity to identify areas requiring improvement.
Speaking after the game, the Morocco national team player described the fixture as a valuable test against a talented Mali side. The quality of the opposition gave Morocco’s players the chance to compete at a high level and assess themselves against strong opponents.
“We would have preferred to win, and we need to improve in certain areas,” Bouaddi said.
Morocco had wanted to take victory from the match, but Bouaddi acknowledged that the draw was ultimately unavoidable. He said the team’s focus in the next stage would be on addressing some of the issues exposed during the game.
The midfielder added that the squad understood the need to develop several aspects of its performance. Work within the group will continue, he said, with the aim of improving the team’s displays and ensuring better preparation for upcoming competitions.
The match formed part of Morocco’s preparatory phase. During this period, the national team has been assessing the physical condition of its players while also examining a number of technical details before moving on to the next stage.
