CAF Champions League: Ghana’s Charles Bulu to referee El Merreikh Bentiu v Pyramids FC

Ghanaian referee Charles Bulu has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to take charge of the first-leg match between El Merreikh Bentiu and Pyramids FC in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Bulu will be assisted by fellow Ghanaians Paul Kodzo Atimaka and Tijani Mohammed, who will serve as the assistant referees. Nana Kobina of Ghana has been named as the fourth official.

The tie will see South Sudanese side El Merreikh Bentiu face Egyptian club Pyramids FC in a high-pressure contest, with both teams seeking to move closer to a place in the group stage.

El Merreikh Bentiu will aim to take advantage of home conditions and produce an upset against Pyramids FC, who are experienced in continental competition. The match is expected to test both sides tactically and physically.

Bulu, known for his strict and impartial approach, will be responsible for ensuring the game runs smoothly and that the laws of the game are followed throughout the encounter.

His performance will be closely monitored as El Merreikh Bentiu and Pyramids FC pursue what would be a historic qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.
