Fayçal Fajr speaks on Moghreb Tétouan ban

Moroccan international Fayçal Fajr has admitted his frustration at being unable to make his competitive debut for Moghreb Tétouan due to the club’s ongoing registration ban.

Fajr is among several new signings who remain ineligible to feature for the Tetouan-based side as the club works to resolve the restrictions preventing it from registering its new players.

The experienced midfielder says the situation has been difficult, insisting that training sessions cannot replace the intensity and satisfaction that come with playing competitive matches.

“A player always wants to play matches, as they represent the spirit and driving force for him. Attending daily training without playing is unsettling for a player, and that is the situation we are currently experiencing,” Fajr told Hesport.

Despite the frustration, the former Morocco international remains confident that the Moghreb Tétouan management is working hard to resolve the matter and secure the registration of the new arrivals.

He believes a breakthrough could come in the coming days, allowing him and his fellow new signings to finally contribute on the pitch.

“The Moghreb Tétouan management is making tremendous efforts to lift the ban and register the new players. We are waiting for the next few days and hope for a breakthrough so we can contribute to the team,” he added.

Fajr, who is keen to make an impact in the Moghreb Tétouan colours, also spoke positively about his experience at the club since his arrival.

The midfielder says the atmosphere within the team is encouraging and believes the only major obstacle currently standing in their way is the registration issue.

“I am strongly motivated to make a positive impression with the Tetouan team; everything here is excellent, and the only thing missing is the lifting of the registration ban. I believe the team will make its mark, and I look forward to shining in its colors this season,” Fajr said.

The veteran midfielder has also received a warm welcome from the Moghreb Tétouan supporters and is determined to repay their backing once he receives clearance to play.

Fajr has pledged to give his maximum for the club and help deliver results once the registration restriction is lifted.

Moghreb Tétouan have collected two points from their opening two matches of the Professional League campaign, drawing against RS Berkane and Ittihad Tanger.

The club will therefore hope to resolve the registration issue soon and make its new recruits available as it looks to strengthen the squad for the remainder of the season.
