Nicolas Anelka, Gaël Clichy, and others have rallied behind Patrice Evra in his dispute with consultants Bixente Lizarazu, Pierre Ménès, Roland Courbis, and Luis Fernandez. Steve Mandanda, the goalkeeper for Olympique de Marseille and a teammate of Evra in the French national team, has also joined in supporting the Manchester United defender.
During an appearance on Canal Football Club, Mandanda shared his perspective on the controversy, expressing solidarity with Evra. “It’s a personal thing. (…) That’s his feeling. It’s not easy as a player to hear criticism. He said what he said, but I know him, he’s a good and important person in the group,” said the OM goalkeeper.
Despite the criticism from the TV consultants, Evra has found significant support, including from former coach Alex Ferguson and the new manager, David Moyes. Additionally, the French Football Federation has decided not to impose sanctions on him in light of the situation.
