Karim Konate attracting interest as Bundesliga and Premier League clubs weigh €25m move

At 22, Karim Konate is attracting growing interest from clubs across Europe after continuing to impress for Red Bull Salzburg. The Ivorian forward’s goalscoring ability and athletic qualities have placed him on the radar of several teams in the Bundesliga and Premier League.

Borussia Dortmund are understood to be monitoring his progress particularly closely. According to Fussball-News, the German club are following the striker’s situation, while RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in his profile.

In England, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest continue to keep track of Konate. Other Premier League clubs have reportedly begun making enquiries with his agency, Unique Sports Group.

No formal negotiations have yet taken place between Red Bull Salzburg and any of the clubs interested in the player. Those teams remain at the scouting stage, assessing Konate through recruitment reports, video analysis and statistical data. Some initial contact has been made through his representatives.

A move during the next winter transfer window cannot therefore be ruled out, although Red Bull Salzburg would prefer to retain the forward until the summer.

Konate remains under contract with the Austrian club until 30 June 2028 and is regarded as an important part of their attacking plans. Salzburg could consider selling him if their financial demands are met and they are able to secure a replacement.

The club are believed to value Konate at between €20m and €25m. That figure is considerably higher than his current estimated market value of €12m, according to Transfermarkt.

Dortmund are due to play Werder Bremen in their fifth Bundesliga match of the season.
