DR7 edge Saudi derby as Ultra Chmicha stay unbeaten in Kings League MENA

DR7 defeated Saudi rivals RA2 7-6 in a thrilling derby, while Ultra Chmicha maintained their unbeaten start by winning the first Moroccan derby in Kings League MENA.

The fifth matchday of Split 1 was held at Cool Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City, with all 10 teams competing for valuable points in the Middle East and North Africa tournament in Riyadh.

Defending champions DR7 prevailed in a match that swung repeatedly between the two Saudi sides. Darbaha missed a president’s penalty, while Raed converted his to strengthen RA2’s position.

The contest reached Matchball Mode at 6-5, before VAR intervention levelled the score at 6-6. DR7 forward Abdullah Al-Aqili then completed his hat-trick with the decisive goal to settle a memorable derby.

Rising Peaks, led by team president and content creator Abdulrahman Al-Shahri, recorded their second successive victory by beating Egypt’s Turbo. Saud Mubarak scored a double, while Ehab Houba struck the winning goal. Rising Peaks’ Yazeed Al-Shafai and Turbo president Tarboon both converted president’s penalties.

Matchball Mode began with the Saudi team 4-1 ahead, before Houba secured the final result. The match also marked the debut of Rising Peaks’ new player Nofal Boumina.

Jordanian side Red Zone, led by content creator and team president Maherko, defeated Qatar’s ABO FC 9-2. Red Zone striker Mohamed Abdel Fattah, the tournament’s leading scorer, scored twice early on to put his team in control.

Ultra Chmicha, led by content creator Elias Al-Malki, beat fellow Moroccan club Bakhira FC 5-3 in the competition’s first Moroccan derby. Bakhira goalkeeper Mam Cheikh Diop became the first player to score in a Moroccan derby in Kings League MENA.

Ultra Chmicha responded through Sagar Escoto, who scored a spectacular double-goal. The match also featured a Dice Throw duel between Massi Dabo and Luis Henrique “Bolt”, with the latter finding the net. Both teams missed chances after failing to convert their president’s penalties.

In another dramatic match, Jordan’s 3BS beat Kuwait’s FWZ to inflict their opponents’ first defeat of the season. FWZ made the stronger start, with Igor Campos scoring twice during the player-down phase. After 3BS president Absi missed his penalty, Fawaz converted for a 3-1 lead.

Khaled Abbas then completed a remarkable comeback with goals in the 34th, 42nd and 43rd minutes to claim a 3-2 victory for 3BS.

Ultra Chmicha now lead the table as the only team with five wins. FWZ are second on 4-1, while DR7 and Red Zone share third on 3-2.

Abdel Fattah leads the scoring chart with nine goals, followed by DR7’s Igo Kaninde on seven. Seven players have six goals: Jiro Martin, Moussa Sow, Khaled Abbas, Massi Dabo, Igor Campos and Abdullah Al-Aqili.

Ultra Chmicha’s Marc Briones and ABO FC’s Manuel Jimenez lead the goalkeeper standings with 40 saves each, ahead of 3BS goalkeeper “JMK” on 38.

The sixth matchday takes place at Cool Arena on Monday. Matches will be available through the Kings League MENA presidents’ personal channels and the tournament’s official platforms, while MBC Action and Shahid will provide live coverage across the region.
