Mohamed Ouahbi to skip pre-match press conference before Mali game
Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi will not hold a pre-match press conference before Sunday’s friendly against Mali at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
The Atlas Lions are preparing to face Mali in their third match of the current international break as they continue their preparations for upcoming fixtures.
Morocco will complete their final training session at the Grand Stade de Tanger on Saturday, with the session partially open to members of the media.
The first 15 minutes of the training session will be available to journalists, starting at 17:00.
Ouahbi will not speak to the media before the match, however, with the Moroccan coach scheduled to address reporters after the final whistle instead.
The post-match press conference will give Ouahbi an opportunity to discuss the outcome of the game and assess Morocco’s performance against Mali.
The decision means there will be no formal media briefing from the head coach ahead of Sunday’s meeting.
Morocco’s match against Mali is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
The fixture will be the third game of the international break for the Atlas Lions, following their matches against Gabon and Lesotho.
Ouahbi will therefore use the meeting with Mali as another opportunity to work with his squad during the international window before Morocco’s upcoming fixtures.
The final training session on Saturday will allow the media to observe the opening 15 minutes of the team’s preparations before the players continue their work behind closed doors.
The coach will then wait until after the game to provide his assessment of the team’s performance.
Morocco will face Mali in front of their home supporters in Tangier, with the match bringing the Atlas Lions’ third fixture of the international break.
The focus will be on the players’ performance and the work carried out during the international window, while Ouahbi will provide his reaction after the match rather than before it.
With kick-off set for 18:00 on Sunday, Morocco’s preparations will continue with the final training session at the Grand Stade de Tanger on Saturday afternoon.
