Fath Union Sport’s difficult start to the new Moroccan league season continued as they suffered a second consecutive defeat, losing 1-0 at home to Ittihad Amal Tiznit.

The Matchday 2 fixture was played at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Friday evening, with Fath unable to respond after falling behind in the second half.

The result leaves Ricardo Formosinho’s side without a point from their opening two matches.

Salhi gives Amal Tiznit victory

After a goalless first half, Ittihad Amal Tiznit broke the deadlock in the 57th minute.

Zakaria Salhi found the net to put the visitors ahead and give his side a valuable advantage away from home.

Fath Rabat were unable to find an equaliser before the final whistle as Amal Tiznit held on to secure all three points.

Fath Rabat yet to earn a point

The defeat follows Fath’s 2-0 loss to Ittihad Touarga in their opening league fixture.

Formosinho’s team have therefore started the campaign with two defeats and remain without a point after two rounds.

Amal Tiznit, meanwhile, secured their first victory of the season and moved up to seventh place in the standings with three points.

Fath will now look to respond in their next league fixture after a start that has fallen short of expectations in Rabat.
