Youcef Belaili CAS hearing set for November 10

Youcef Belaili’s legal dispute with FIFA will reach a new stage on November 10, 2026, when the Court of Arbitration for Sport holds a hearing concerning his appeal.

The case, registered as CAS 2026/A/12520, relates to the Algerian forward’s previous spell with AC Ajaccio.

The dispute began during the 2022-23 season over financial matters and documents connected to Belaili’s departure from the French club. FIFA later examined allegations involving contested paperwork before imposing a 12-month suspension in March 2026.

Belaïli challenged that punishment at the CAS. In August, the court provisionally suspended the sanction, allowing him to return to competition with Esperance de Tunis. However, that temporary measure did not settle the wider case, meaning the November hearing could prove crucial. A final ruling is not guaranteed on the day, as the panel may require additional deliberations.

Meanwhile, Belaili faces a separate dispute in Algeria involving MC Alger. The club claims to hold a signed commitment from the player and has hired sports-law specialist Slim Boulasnem to review its position.

MC Alger had announced an agreement with Belaïli last summer, subject to developments in his legal situation and a medical examination. He eventually remained with Espérance, prompting the Algerian club to consider further action.
