Marseille extend Alexi Koum contract as Cameroon defender commits until 2029

Olympique de Marseille have extended the contract of young defender Alexi Koum, keeping the Cameroon left-back at the club until June 2029.

Koum joined Marseille from AJ Auxerre in the summer of 2024 and will continue his development on the Canebiere. The 20-year-old is regarded as a player with the potential to contribute to the club’s plans over the coming seasons.

The new agreement rewards the progress Koum has made since moving to Marseille. He remains in the early stages of his development but is continuing to learn within the club’s environment as he works towards establishing himself in the first-team project.

Koum’s current market value is estimated at 350,000 euros by Transfermarkt. By securing his services through to 2029, Marseille have underlined their intention to retain and develop the young Cameroon defender.

Marseille will soon face Troyes in the sixth round of the French championship.
