Samuel Chukwueze says Ruben Amorim has restored his confidence at AC Milan

Samuel Chukwueze says the trust shown by Ruben Amorim and a sustained run of playing time have helped him rediscover his confidence at AC Milan.

The Nigeria winger made the comments in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa while on international duty with the Super Eagles, describing his current spell at the Italian club as a significant improvement.

Chukwueze has particularly valued the opportunity to play regularly this season. He believes consecutive appearances, including matches in which he has remained on the pitch for the full game, have gradually allowed him to recover his rhythm and self-belief.

The 27-year-old also views his increased involvement as an important indication of his manager’s confidence in him. He says the faith of the coach has played a central role in his return to form.

The Nigeria international also acknowledged that managers can have different approaches and methods. He believes adapting to Amorim’s demands has helped him establish a more important role in AC Milan’s team.

The change follows a season-long loan spell at Fulham, where Chukwueze scored three goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances.

After returning to Italy, he adapted quickly to Ruben Amorim’s expectations and has since been given greater responsibility in the AC Milan system. He has made five appearances since the start of the season, with four of those coming as starts, and has recorded two assists.

Chukwueze has set ambitious targets with the Rossoneri and wants to build on his improved position within the squad. He ended the interview by stressing his desire to achieve major objectives with AC Milan.

The winger is under contract with AC Milan until 30 June 2028. Transfermarkt values him at 20 million euros.

Chukwueze previously earned an annual salary of 7 192 224 euros, equivalent to 4 674 945 600 FCFA, during his time in England.

His club commitments will soon include a meeting with Sassuolo in the sixth matchday of the Italian championship. The published 1xbet odds make AC Milan the favourites, with a victory priced at 1.68. Sassuolo’s win is listed at 4.00, while the odds for a draw are 3.60.
