Anis Hadj Moussa will miss Algeria’s final two international matches after suffering a minor injury, the Algerian Football Federation has announced through its official channels.
The Feyenoord forward was included in the squad for the next fixture but did not play as a precaution. He had picked up the injury during Algeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Zambia.
Hadj Moussa came on in the 70th minute against Zambia and scored, but was subsequently left out of the action for the following match. The 24-year-old had already been named among the substitutes as a precaution.
The exact nature of the injury and how long Hadj Moussa will be unavailable remain unknown.
The Algeria international has made an impressive start to the season with Feyenoord, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
The Rotterdam club will return to league action on 10 October, when they host AZ.
