Moroccan side AS FAR beat Tanzania 3-0 ahead of Raja Casablanca clash
AS FAR have stepped up their preparations for the new Moroccan football season with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Tanzania national team in a friendly in Maamoura.
The Moroccan club produced a strong performance at the Military Sports Centre on Friday afternoon, using the fixture as part of their preparations for the domestic league and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The victory comes as Royal Army prepare for a demanding campaign that will include a meeting with Raja Casablanca in the opening round of the Moroccan professional championship.
Bourika opens scoring for Royal Army
Mohsen Bourika put Royal Army ahead after receiving a decisive pass from team-mate Souleiman Bouchkali.
Jalal Eddine El Khafif then doubled the advantage after being set up by Khaled Ait Ourkhan.
Ait Ourkhan completed the scoring by adding Royal Army’s third goal, securing a comfortable victory for the Moroccan side.
Royal Army prepare for delayed league start
The friendly formed part of Royal Army’s preparations after the National Professional Football League postponed their opening two league fixtures.
Their matches against Raja Casablanca and Renaissance Berkane were delayed because several Royal Army players were involved with their respective national teams.
The club will now continue preparations for the start of their domestic campaign while also looking ahead to their CAF Confederation Cup commitments.
