Oday Dabbagh scores brace for Palestine

Zamalek striker Oday Dabbagh scored twice to inspire Palestine to a commanding 5-0 victory over China in an international friendly on Friday.

The match, played at the Longsheng Stadium, formed part of Palestine’s training camp in China during the current international break.

Palestine made a fast start to the encounter, with Asad Al-Hamlawi opening the scoring in the 15th minute before doubling the advantage nine minutes later.

Dabbagh then added his name to the scoresheet in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, scoring Palestine’s third goal to give his side a 3-0 lead at the break.

The Zamalek forward needed just three minutes after the restart to find the net again, scoring in the 48th minute to complete his brace and make it 4-0.

The second goal took Dabbagh’s tally for the Palestinian national team to 21 goals, further highlighting his importance to the side.

Palestine continued to dominate proceedings and eventually added a fifth goal deep into stoppage time, with Ahmed Al-Qaq scoring in the 93rd minute to complete the emphatic victory.

The result brought Palestine’s training camp in China to a strong conclusion after three international friendlies.

They began the camp with a 2-2 draw against New Zealand before securing a 4-2 victory over Tajikistan.

Dabbagh’s brace against China therefore capped a productive international break for Palestine, while the Zamalek striker continued to demonstrate his goalscoring value for the national team.
