Jeremiah Maluze nears comeback as Frankfurt defender steps up recovery

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Jeremiaha Maluze is progressing his recovery from an adductor muscle injury, using the international break to move closer to a return.

The 21-year-old has spent around three weeks sidelined after suffering the setback, but he has resumed outdoor work and ball exercises.

Frankfurt remain optimistic that Maluze will soon be available again. A place in the squad against RB Leipzig on October 10 has not been ruled out, although the club will carefully assess his fitness before making a final decision.

Maluze’s rise has been built through a varied football education. He learned the game at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, KFC Uerdingen and MSV Duisburg before spells with SV Straelen and Mülheimer FC 97 in the fifth-tier Oberliga Niederrhein.

He moved to Rot-Weiß Erfurt for the 2024-25 Regionalliga Nordost season and became one of the side’s leading players, making 30 appearances and scoring four goals. Maluze joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025, featuring regularly for the second team during their Hesse League title-winning campaign.

He contributed 26 appearances and three goals as Frankfurt earned promotion to the Regionalliga Sudwest. His comeback would provide the club with another promising defensive option.
