Aurélien Tchouaméni opens children’s home in Cameroon after funding sports complex

Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has opened a new children’s home in Cameroon as part of his ongoing efforts to support young people in the country.

The France international travelled to Manjo, in Cameroon’s Littoral Region, to attend the inauguration of the facility.

Tchouaméni’s latest contribution builds on his previous support for the same children’s home.

In December 2024, the midfielder fully funded the construction of a mini-sports complex at the facility, providing the children with a dedicated space for sporting activities.

The latest project further strengthens his connection with Cameroon and reflects his efforts to use his success in football to support community development.

Tchouaméni, who was born in Rouen, France, to parents of Cameroonian origin, has previously spoken about his links to the country and his desire to contribute to its development.

The Real Madrid player has established himself as one of Europe’s leading midfielders since joining the Spanish club from Monaco in 2022.

Away from football, his work in Manjo has focused on creating opportunities and improving the environment in which children can grow and develop.

The opening of the children’s home marks another step in those efforts, while the sports complex funded in 2024 gives residents access to facilities for physical activity and recreation.

Tchouaméni’s visit to Manjo also allowed him to see the impact of the projects and participate in the inauguration of the new home.

His contributions come as a reminder of the growing involvement of African-born and African-descended footballers in charitable and community initiatives across the continent.
