Algeria coach Brahim Hemdani expects at least three staff additions in November
Algeria coach Brahim Hemdani is expected to add at least three members to his technical staff in November as he looks to strengthen the team behind the scenes.
Hemdani has completed his first international camp in charge of the Fennecs, overseeing two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He now wants to expand his coaching team before the next gathering of the national side.
According to El Heddaf, two video analysts are expected to join the Algeria staff in November after being selected by Hemdani.
The additions would give the coach greater support in preparing for matches, particularly in analysing opponents, tactical patterns and individual performances.
Video analysis has become an important part of modern football preparation, with coaching teams using detailed information to study the strengths and weaknesses of opposing sides and review their own performances.
The two analysts are not expected to be the only additions to Hemdani’s staff.
One or two assistant coaches could also be brought into the Algeria setup, meaning the coach could have at least three new members working alongside him from November.
If two assistants are added, the number of new staff members could rise to four.
The planned changes come after Hemdani made an encouraging start to his tenure on the pitch.
Algeria opened their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign with a 3 1 victory over Zambia in Tizi Ouzou. The performance gave the new coach a positive beginning as he took charge of his first competitive matches with the national team.
The second qualifier against Burundi presented a much greater challenge.
Algeria fell 2 0 behind in front of the home crowd before fighting back to earn a 2 2 draw. The result showed the side’s ability to respond under pressure, although the performance also exposed areas that Hemdani will want to address.
The four points collected from the opening two qualifiers mean Hemdani has gone through his first two matches without defeat.
The draw in Burundi nevertheless leaves the coach with several aspects of the team to improve before the next international window.
Hemdani will now have more resources available to help with that work when the Algeria squad gathers again in November.
The expected arrival of analysts and additional assistant coaches would give the new manager a larger technical team as he continues to establish his methods.
After beginning his tenure with changes on the pitch, Hemdani is now preparing to build a stronger structure around the Algeria national team.
