McAfee security alert asks users three questions before antivirus scan

A desktop security warning claims the activity is typical of hidden spyware running in the background without producing audible signs.

The alert says artificial intelligence has assessed whether the threat can be removed, but warns that the threat has not been eliminated and that a manual analysis is required.

It then asks the user three questions before proceeding.

The first asks whether the device has been overheating quickly. The answer shown is “Yes”.

The second asks whether the device has occasionally frozen completely. This is also followed by the answer “Yes”.

The third question asks whether the browser redirects automatically.

The warning then instructs the user to click a button to begin an antivirus scan.

It adds that three questions generated by artificial intelligence must be answered before continuing.
