‘Stronger and more entertaining’ – Algeria’s Djamel Belamri praises Morocco

Former Algeria international Djamel Belamri has praised the Morocco national team after their 2-0 victory over Lesotho in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Belamri, speaking as an analyst on beIN Sports, said the Atlas Lions have continued to improve and have become more entertaining under coach Mohamed Ouahbi.

“The Moroccan national team was strong with Regragui, and became stronger and more entertaining with Ouahbi. They execute tactical plays that you only see in major national teams.”

Belamri impressed by Morocco’s progress

The former Algerian defender said Ouahbi had already made his influence felt on the Moroccan team, while highlighting the continuity in their performances.

He also said the Atlas Lions were continuing on an upward trajectory as they target qualification for the 2027 AFCON.

Morocco’s latest victory came against Lesotho at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa, with the result leaving them top of Group A on six points.

The Atlas Lions have won both of their opening qualifiers and will now look to maintain their strong start as they pursue another appearance at Africa’s biggest international tournament.
