Egypt make one change for Tunisia clash as Younes El Mallah starts

Egypt’s youth team for players born in 2007 will make one change to their starting line-up for their North Africa qualifiers match against Tunisia on Sunday.

The two sides meet at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium at 20:00 in Ismailia, with Egypt looking to build on their opening victory over Libya.

Wail Riyad has selected Younes El Mallah, the Haninge player, in place of Mohamed Raafat, who was sent off during Egypt’s 2-0 win against Libya.

Egypt did not play in the second round of matches because the competition features five teams, meaning one side must sit out in each round.

Riyad’s starting XI is:

Goalkeeper: Omar Abdelaziz

Defenders: Mohamed Awad, Nour Ashraf, Eyad Medhat, Mohannad El Shamy

Midfielders: Younes El Mallah, Mohamed Samir “Konta”, Mohamed Hamed

Forwards: Omar El Azab, Anas Roshdy, Mohamed Haitham

The substitutes are Eyad Tamer, Abdullah Badeir, Mohamed Farag, Omar Tharwat, Omar Amin, Yassin Atef, Mahmoud Salah, Ali El Garhy and Adham Karim.

Algeria lead the standings with four points from two matches. Egypt are second on three points from one game, having begun their campaign with victory over Libya.

Tunisia are third with two points from two matches, while Morocco have one point from their only game so far. Libya are bottom without a point after losing their opening two matches.

The top two teams in the standings will qualify directly for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Algeria and Morocco will also meet on Sunday in the third round of matches.
