Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa charged by FA over Manchester United officiating criticism

The Football Association has charged Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa with misconduct over comments he made after his side’s Premier League match against Manchester United.

The teams drew 1-1 in the fifth round of the Premier League at Craven Cottage, with Arbeloa subsequently criticising the decisions made during the game.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, the Spanish coach said: “Every decision was in favour of Manchester United. After their match against Manchester City, I realised they do not like Manchester United to lose again.”

He added: “There were a lot of situations that favoured Manchester United. You could see that in the foul involving Harry Maguire.”

The FA has given Arbeloa until Thursday, 1 October, to respond to the charge.

Arbeloa has been in charge of Fulham since the start of the current season. His team have played five Premier League matches, drawing two and losing three.

Fulham are 19th in the table with two points and will face Ipswich Town in the sixth round of the Premier League on Saturday, 10 October.
