Amad Diallo set for injury return

Manchester United have been handed a potential boost with Amad Diallo hinting that he could be closing in on a return to action after missing the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season through injury.

The Ivorian winger has yet to feature for Ruben Amorim’s side this campaign after suffering an ankle injury during pre-season.

The setback has ruled Amad out of all seven matches played by United during the opening month of the season, leaving the club without one of their attacking options as they look to build momentum in the new campaign.

However, there are now signs that the 24-year-old could be nearing a return.

Amad sparked speculation about his fitness on Tuesday morning after posting a picture of himself celebrating Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest from last season on his Instagram Story.

The winger accompanied the post with an hourglass and an exhaling-face emoji, which appeared to suggest that his wait to return to competitive action may soon be over.

While the post does not confirm when Amad will be available for selection, it has raised optimism that he could be involved when United return to Premier League action after the international break.

Manchester United are scheduled to host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 10, in what could potentially mark Amad’s return to the squad.

His availability would provide another attacking option for Amorim, particularly as United look to strengthen their performances in the early stages of the campaign.

Amad enjoyed an increasingly influential role for United last season and will be hoping to resume where he left off once he is cleared to return.

For now, United will continue to monitor his recovery, with the Tottenham fixture emerging as a possible target for the winger’s comeback.
