Desktop Security – McAfee: Users asked to answer three questions before an antivirus scan

A desktop security message warns that the behaviour described may be linked to hidden spyware operating in the background without producing audible signs of activity.

The message says artificial intelligence is assessing whether the threat can be removed. However, it also states that the threat has not been eliminated and that a manual analysis is required.

Users are then asked to answer three questions before continuing.

The first asks whether they have noticed their device heating up rapidly. The answer shown is “Yes”.

The second asks whether the device has occasionally frozen. This question is also answered “Yes”.

The final question asks whether the browser redirects automatically. The message then instructs the user to click a button to begin an antivirus scan.

It adds that answering all three questions from the artificial intelligence is required to proceed.
