Juma Bah back in action for Sierra Leone after knee injury

Juma Bah has returned to action for Sierra Leone after recovering from recent knee problems.

The 20-year-old centre-back completed the full 90 minutes in his country’s 1-0 defeat against Equatorial Guinea during Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

His appearance offers welcome relief to FC Augsburg, especially after the defender was forced off during Sierra Leone’s previous qualifier against Zimbabwe. Bah had gone down in the 54th minute, appearing in considerable pain, before leaving the pitch while visibly limping. The discomfort seemed to come from his left knee.

However, the young defender was fit enough to start the next international fixture and remained on the field until the final whistle. That quick return suggests the problem has not developed into a serious long-term concern.

Augsburg will be encouraged by the update as they prepare for the Bundesliga schedule after the international break. Bah’s availability could prove important, given his physical presence and growing role in the club’s defensive plans.

Although Sierra Leone suffered defeat, Bah’s complete performance was a personal positive. The centre-back will now aim to return to Augsburg without further discomfort and continue building rhythm after the brief interruption caused by his knee issue.
