Cote d’Ivoire held by Somalia at half-time in CAN 2027 qualifier

Cote d’Ivoire have been held to a goalless draw by Somalia at half-time in their Group C qualifier for CAN 2027.

The match, which is the second round of fixtures in the group, has seen the Elephants dominate possession without finding a breakthrough. Cote d’Ivoire have controlled 69% of the ball, while Somalia have had 31%.

Despite their superiority in possession and technical quality, Cote d’Ivoire have struggled to turn their control into clear attacking results during the opening 45 minutes.

Their pressure has produced three corners and two offside decisions. Somalia have yet to win a corner and have been caught offside once.

Both sides went into the dressing rooms level at 0-0, with Cote d’Ivoire needing greater accuracy in front of goal after the interval if they are to claim all three points.
