Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign faces early test against Gambia

Ghana will look to recover from their opening defeat when they host Gambia in Group C of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday.

The Black Stars lost 2-0 to Cote d’Ivoire in their first match and must now respond at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 GMT.

Gambia head into the fixture with three points after beating Somalia 2-1. The Scorpions are provisionally second in Group C, behind Cote d’Ivoire, while Ghana are yet to get off the mark following their opening loss.

The match represents another important step in the group, with Ghana under pressure to secure a positive result on home soil.

It will also be the first time Ghana and Gambia have met at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
