Zinedine Zidane races down touchline as Michael Olise seals France win

France manager Zinedine Zidane celebrated wildly after Michael Olise’s late goal secured a second consecutive Nations League victory against Belgium on Monday.

The Bayern Munich forward came off the bench to score in the 88th minute, giving France a decisive goal at a crucial moment in the second-round match.

As soon as the ball reached the back of the Belgium net, Zidane sprinted through the technical area before forcefully kicking a ball in front of him. His reaction reflected the importance of a goal that earned France a valuable victory in the closing stages.

France sit at the top of the group under Zidane, who took charge of the national team after Didier Deschamps left following the 2026 World Cup. France finished fourth at that tournament.

Belgium, managed by Mark van Bommel, suffered their first defeat and remain on three points in third place. They are level on points with runners-up Italy but trail them on goal difference.

Olise’s strike maintained France’s perfect start and gave Zidane an opportunity to celebrate a significant result in one of his first competitive campaigns as national-team manager.
