Zidane’s touchline kick steals the show after Olise seals France win

Zinedine Zidane celebrated Michael Olise’s late winner for France in remarkable fashion as his side beat Belgium in Brussels.

With the match appearing destined to finish goalless despite chances for both teams, Olise broke the deadlock shortly before the final whistle.

The Bayern Munich forward collected possession inside his own half before driving forward on a solo run. He completed the move by beating Senne Lammens with a powerful finish to make it 0-1.

The goal prompted an extraordinary reaction from Zidane. The France manager sprinted towards a football resting on top of a training cone, then struck it forcefully into the distance as he celebrated.

Footage of the moment quickly attracted attention on social media, with the unusual celebration also prompting plenty of laughter.

“When I saw Olise running, I already knew he was going to score,” Zidane said after the match when shown the images of his reaction.

The manager laughed as he reflected on the celebration, which came as France secured a second victory in succession after beating Turkey.

France return to competitive action against Italy on Friday before facing Belgium again three days later.
