Zamalek reject Al Ahly Benghazi offer for Ahmed Fattouh

Zamalek have rejected an offer from Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi for Ahmed Fattouh, with the Egyptian club insisting they have no intention of allowing the 28-year-old to leave.

Fattouh’s agent, Samir Salah, confirmed that the Libyan side had made an approach for the player, but Zamalek turned it down.

A source at Zamalek told FilGoal.com: “The club rejected an offer from one of the Libyan clubs to sign Ahmed Fattouh.”

The source added: “The board has no intention of giving up the player. The priority is to maintain the current group of players, especially with the team’s upcoming commitments.”

Zamalek rejected the offer two days ago because they need Fattouh’s services at this stage of the season, the source said.

Fattouh is in the final season of his current Zamalek contract and Libya’s registration window for new signings is scheduled to close on 6 October.

The left-back is currently with Egypt’s national team as they prepare to face South Sudan in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Zamalek had also rejected two approaches for Fattouh from Saudi Arabian club Al Fateh and Turkish side Konyaspor during the summer after the 2026 World Cup, according to his agent.

Although Fattouh is primarily associated with the left-back position, he has featured as a midfielder in Zamalek’s recent matches. Moroccan player Mahmoud Bentayg has played at left-back during that period.

Fattouh is one of Zamalek’s leaders and has made 212 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and providing 22 assists.

He has won eight trophies with Zamalek: three Egyptian Premier League titles, three Egyptian Super Cup titles and two Confederation Cups.
