Moses Mabhida Stadium to host 2026 MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns

Moses Mabhida Stadium will stage the 2026 MTN8 Final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 10 October, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed the Durban venue on Tuesday, with tickets for the final due to go on sale online at 10:00 on Friday, 2 October 2026.

The match will be the 10th MTN8 final hosted by Moses Mabhida Stadium, making it the record holder for staging the competition’s showpiece event.

General Access tickets will cost R150 and will be available exclusively online through www.opentickets.co.za. Supporters will be able to select the 2026 MTN8 Final from 10:00 on Friday, 02 October 2026.

Each customer will be limited to four tickets as part of measures intended to ensure fair access to the fixture.

The stadium, which hosted matches at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, has undergone refurbishment and rehabilitation work before the final’s return to Durban. Work on the stadium began in 2024, with the eThekwini Municipality estimating the cost of the wider project at R284 million.

The pitch has also been rehabilitated as part of efforts to restore the facility to international standards.

Supporters have been advised to prepare before tickets go on sale by ensuring they have a valid banking card and sufficient funds available to complete their purchase.

An online queuing system will operate on the Open Tickets platform, meaning users may have to wait before reaching the ticket purchasing page. Once tickets have been placed in a shopping cart, customers will have 10 minutes to complete payment.

A confirmation email containing the purchase details will be sent after a transaction has been completed successfully.

All spectators, including children, must have a valid ticket to enter Moses Mabhida Stadium. The public has also been urged to buy tickets only through the official Open Tickets online platform and avoid unauthorised third-party sellers.
