Barcelona are expected to restore the Democratic Republic of Congo emblem to their training shirts after the branding disappeared briefly at the beginning of the season.
The interruption was reportedly linked to a delayed €10 million sponsorship payment for the current campaign, although the outstanding amount has now been received and the partnership remains intact.
The “DR Congo – Coeur de l’Afrique” logo should reappear after the international break. It will be displayed on Barcelona’s training wear and fixed advertising boards, while the emblem was already visible at the Palau Blaugrana last weekend.
The club announced the four-year agreement last summer. The deal is reportedly worth approximately €40 million, with potential bonuses capable of increasing its total value to €44 million.
Despite the resolution, the partnership has attracted scrutiny. A complaint was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office over alleged financial irregularities involving the Congolese government. Barcelona have maintained that the investigation concerns commissions paid between intermediaries, rather than wrongdoing by the club itself.
For now, the payment dispute appears settled, allowing the sponsorship to return to Barcelona’s training equipment. The renewed visibility will restore the agreement’s presence around the club after a short-lived interruption.
