Fadlu Davids hints at North Africa return as coaching comeback nears

South African coach Fadlu Davids says he could return to management “very, very soon” and has suggested North Africa may be his next destination.

Davids has been without a club since leaving Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in June. He had taken charge of the club in September last year.

The 44-year-old was subsequently in discussions with Tanzanian giants Young Africans and was reportedly close to becoming their new coach.

However, the proposed move collapsed after the two sides failed to agree financial terms. Young Africans, also known as Yanga, went on to appoint fellow South African coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Davids is now preparing for a possible return to the dugout and says he is keen to resume coaching.

“Very, very soon [I’ll be back on the dugout],” Davids told Radio 2000.

Asked where he might work next, he indicated that a move back to North Africa was the most likely outcome.

“As it looks at the moment, probably somewhere in North Africa.”
