Tidiam Gomis leaves France Under-21 camp early

Tidiam Gomis has left France’s Under-21 squad early after developing minor lower-leg discomfort during RB Leipzig’s 2-0 Bundesliga defeat by Bayer Leverkusen.

According to reports, the 20-year-old winger took a light knock during the match. Although the problem does not currently appear serious, the French federation and Leipzig’s medical team agreed that returning him to Germany was the safest option.

The decision was made purely as a precaution. Rather than expose Gomis to unnecessary risk during the international break, both parties preferred to give him time to rest and recover under Leipzig’s supervision.

The young attacker has made an encouraging start to the new season and has been one of the more positive performers in Leipzig’s squad during the opening weeks. His pace, direct running and ability to create danger from the left have made him an increasingly useful attacking option.

Leipzig will now hope Gomis can recover fully before domestic football resumes. If his discomfort settles as expected, the club should have him available again after the international break. However, further monitoring will determine whether he can return immediately to full training or needs additional recovery time.
