Zamalek have received a boost during the international break with winger Ahmed Abdel Rahim “Esho” returning to full training after recovering from injury.

The young attacker had been sidelined after suffering a strain to the origin of the anterior muscle during Zamalek’s second-leg clash against Djibouti champions AS Port in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

His injury forced him to miss training for a period as he underwent a rehabilitation programme designed to ensure a full recovery before returning to competitive action.

However, Esho has now regained his fitness and has participated normally in the team’s recent training sessions.

The player was given the green light to resume full participation after the club’s medical and technical staff confirmed that he had recovered sufficiently from the injury.

His return provides Zamalek’s coaching staff with another attacking option as they use the current international break to work on the squad’s physical and technical preparations.

The Cairo giants are also set to use two upcoming friendly matches to build match fitness and assess the readiness of their players.

Zamalek will face Modern Sport on September 27 before taking on El Sharqia for Tobacco on October 4.

The friendly encounters will form part of the club’s preparations for the resumption of competitive football, with Zamalek scheduled to face ZED in the Egypt Capital Cup on October 7.

Esho will now be hoping to make the most of the upcoming period to regain his rhythm and push for a place in the team when Zamalek return to competitive action.

His recovery comes at an important stage of the season, with the club facing a busy schedule across domestic and continental competitions.
