Niger and Lesotho meet again 22 years after their only previous clashes

Niger and Lesotho will face each other for only the third time in their international history when they meet on Friday, 25 September, in the qualifying competition for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The sides were drawn in the same group during qualifying for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, with their two matches in March and June 2007 producing a perfectly balanced record.

Lesotho won the first encounter 3-1 at home before Niger responded with a 2-0 victory in the return fixture.

Both teams have therefore won on home soil, while each has scored three goals in the fixture. Almost two decades after those meetings, they will renew their contest with neither holding an advantage in the head-to-head record.

The match will be played at Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
