Anis Ouzenadji: Troyes’ teenage full-back making strides from Ligue 2 champion to Algeria U23 international

Anis Ouzenadji is quickly emerging as one of the most promising young players at ESTAC Troyes, having progressed through the club’s academy to make his senior breakthrough and earn international recognition with Algeria U23.

The 19-year-old left-back joined Troyes’ youth system in 2021 after being born in Aubervilliers in 2006. He first attracted attention with a series of strong performances in the club’s youth teams, including in the Coupe Gambardella.

His development accelerated at the start of 2024, when he signed his first professional contract. He was then gradually introduced to the first team as he continued to establish himself within the club.

Ouzenadji was part of the Troyes squad that won the 2026 Ligue 2 title. That success secured the club’s return to the top flight and represented another significant step in the defender’s rise.

A new international path

Ouzenadji represented France at under-19 level before deciding to play for Algeria internationally. The decision has given him the opportunity to begin a new chapter in his young career.

In September 2026, he received his first call-up to the Algeria U23 squad, managed by Rafik Saifi, for a match against South Africa.

The occasion carried particular significance for the player, who described his first selection as a “great source of pride”.

An attacking-minded left-back

Although primarily deployed at left-back, Ouzenadji has developed a reputation for his attacking instincts. His technical ability allows him to join attacks regularly and deliver dangerous crosses into the final third.

He is also prepared to contribute directly in front of goal. During his time in Ligue 2, he made an impression with a powerful volley, underlining his willingness to take shooting opportunities when they arise.

That attacking contribution has continued in Ligue 1, where he has already provided an assist. The involvement reflects his capacity to influence matches beyond his defensive duties.

Market value rises sharply

Ouzenadji’s growing importance at Troyes has also been reflected in his estimated market value. It has risen from 500,000 euros to 2.5 million euros, an increase of 400%.

The change mirrors both his progress and his improved status within the club, as well as the growing interest in his profile. At 19, the Algeria U23 international is now regarded as a young player to watch closely.

Troyes are due to play Marseille in the sixth round of the French championship.
