Mohamed Bachir Belloumi shortlisted for Premier League Player of the Month award

Mohamed Bachir Belloumi has been included among the eight nominees for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for September 2026.

The Premier League announced the shortlist on Thursday, with the Hull City winger nominated after an impressive month for the club. Belloumi is competing for the award alongside Jaidon Bogle of Leeds United, Pascal Groß of Brighton, Liverpool pair Alexander Isak and Jeremy Jacquet, Brighton forward Charalampos Kostoulas, Brentford’s Kevin Schade and Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City.

The 24-year-old Algeria international featured in all three of Hull City’s matches during September, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Belloumi’s most notable performance came against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He scored two goals inside six minutes to help Hull City recover from a losing position and earn a 2-2 draw.

He also set up Mohamed-Ali Cho during Hull City’s match against Newcastle United, although his side were beaten 2-1.

The Premier League’s official website praised Belloumi’s contribution, describing him as “a constant threat with his pace and relentless energy”. It also highlighted his role in Hull City’s strong defensive record in addition to his attacking output.

Supporters can vote for their preferred player until 12:00 BST on Monday, 28 September 2026, through EA SPORTS. The public vote will be combined with the assessment of a panel of experts before the winner is selected.

The recipient of the award will be announced next week.

Belloumi is in his first season in the Premier League. He helped Hull City secure promotion from the English Championship last season after the club won the play-offs.

The winger is the son of Algeria legend Lakhdar Belloumi.
