Manchester United appoint Conor King as assistant goalkeeping coach

Manchester United have appointed Conor King as assistant goalkeeping coach, with the 27-year-old joining the club from Burnley.

King will work alongside goalkeeping coach Craig Mawson as part of the coaching staff led by Michael Carrick.

He joined Burnley’s academy in 2018, when he was 19, and coached the club’s youth goalkeepers for three years before moving into the first-team setup in 2021.

King remained involved with Burnley’s senior side until his departure for Manchester United. During his time at Turf Moor, he worked under Vincent Kompany, Scott Parker, Sean Dyche, Mike Jackson and Nicky Hayen.

His appointment adds to Carrick’s coaching team as Manchester United continue their Premier League campaign.

United are currently 12th in the Premier League table with five points. They have won one match, drawn two and lost two.
